-Avoid alcohol and caffeine
-It's best to stay away from sugar-laden drinks
2. Test your Blood Sugar Regularly
It is essential to monitor blood sugar in summer because the excess heat or stroke could cause vomiting, fatigue, excess sweating, or lightheadedness.

-Test your blood sugar multiple times in a day.

3. Store your Diabetic Medicines and Supplies Well

Extreme heat can cause medicines to break down and make them ineffective.

-Avoid leaving your diabetic medical supplies in a hot car or direct sunlight.

-While traveling, pack our insulin in a cooler as long as it comes in direct contact with an icepack. You can wear it in washcloth or hand towel and then place it on cooler.
4. Exercise

Just remember that hottest part of the day during summer is between 10 to 4 PM. So it’s better to schedule your outdoor exercise before or after these hours.

5. Know the Signs of Low Blood Sugar

If you feel muscle pain or general fatigue, then it’s good to go indoors and take some rest.

-Always keep snacks with you

6. Avoid Going Barefoot

It’s vital to protect your feet when you have type-2 diabetes. Always wear comfy footwear that is breathable. Also, check your feet daily for the infection, cut, or blisters.

7. Dress Appropriately

It’s common that if you stay for a long time in the sunlight, your skin gets burnt. Thus, it’s good to wear a broad-brimmed hat and wear sunscreen to get rid of skin cancer or sunburn.

-Always prefer lightweight and light-colored clothes

8. Get Away from Heat

If you find it too hot outside and your blood sugar is fluctuating, it’s a smart idea to stay inside.
